so much for those athiests from MA. Looks like one of the most religious states in the nation. that is except for that one little white swatch in the Amherst Northampton area.
You'll note that Cape Cod is also in the 35%-50% group.
I think a lot of it can be explained in terms of non-churchgoing Catholics--people who simulataneously would never deny their faith or set foot in a church except on Easter, Christmas, or for a funeral or wedding.
i'd like to point out to no one in particular, that although i live in oklahoma, which is decidedly maroon, i live in one of the seven yellowish counties (no one lives in the whitish ones except buffalo). thank you. just doing my part. oh, i also lived in northampton/amherst. just doing my part there, too.
